Testimonials

I am the dance/theater teacher at Garden Grove High School and a proud UCI Alumni 09. I love Cirque and I signed up for the KÀ day on November 16th. I had to teach that day, so I was only able to hear Kim Scott speak and I cannot stop thinking about her seminar. I have been at my current position for two years and I was taken aside by different women telling me I was too strong of a person. They wanted me to run a theater/dance program but in “soft way” and not be too direct with my words. Being the new teacher, I changed the way I spoke/acted/emailed  and added lots of exclamation points to just about everything. But when I heard Kim speak about her job, it helped me see how successful women are strong. She had conviction in her character, experience to back up her unwavering beliefs, and most of all she knew what she wanted and how to get it. It was refreshing to hear her speak in a confident way that was immediately respected by everyone in the room. I have only been teaching six years and I know I need to be cautious with my career. However, hearing Kim speak gave me hope of what I could one day aspire to be.
Thank you for this opportunity to learn and thank you for allowing alumni to be a part of this. I know there is a lot of work involved and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate you. Please keep doing your great work!

Best,

Chrissie Leong
